Clients and Projects
We have worked on numerous projects down the years, covering almost every imaginable scenario or situation. As a result, we have the expertise and experience to carry out your asbestos project with maximum safety and efficiency, and minimum fuss.
Clients have included many major private and public sector organisations, including schools and universities, local authorities, hospitals and blue chip companies.
Examples of some successful projects are shown below.
The National Maritime Museum
When asbestos insulation buried in a floor was exposed during construction of a new lift shaft, we were able to respond rapidly to ensure that exposure was minimised. Obtaining a waiver from the HSE we commenced work within a matter of days to make sure that works on site were able to recommence swiftly with maximum safety and minimum disruption and delay.
Lewisham Hospital
Working within live public areas within this busy hospital presented many challenges. Creating access without disrupting the hospital’s operations or alarming members of the public or staff required careful planning and liaison, while the nature of the works, carrying out full environmental cleaning of large ducts beneath the hospital’s wards and buildings involved careful management of risks and working procedures due to hazards such as confined space working.
School of Pharmacy
The entire basement plant room and and an upper floor duct were found to be contaminated with asbestos as a result of poor stripping many years previously. A combination of difficult access, confined spaces and a busy public environment made for challenging removal conditions that we were able to complete on time and budget in order to allow other construction projects to continue as planned. The comprehensive environmental cleaning allowed the School to resume work in the plant room without having to lose a great deal of equipment as contaminated waste at tremendous cost.
University of Essex
Working in partnership with the University we have completed a number of projects over the years of varying sizes. Works have included the stripping of pipework insulation and asbestos insulation board within the University and their on-site hotel, plus subsequent reinstatement; soft-strip of a computer suite and student union stage and attendant asbestos removal; and environmental cleaning of bird-foul and installation of pest control measures. All works were carried out with complete regard for safety and the sensitivity of a well populated and busy campus environment.
Havering NHS PCT
We worked the Trust to carry out removal of all asbestos materials form more than twenty clinics throughout their area. A mix of licensable and non-licensable materials both internally and externally, together with reinstatement, required project planning and management to ensure that works were successfully scheduled and completed without impacting on the operation of each clinic.
